As a hospice nurse practitioner at Journey Hospice, you ll provide patients with diagnosis, treatment, and care under the supervision of a physician. In this role, you ll focus on providing hospice care as an extension of a physician, Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment and counsel patients. Order and interpret test as indicated and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Qualifications: A heart to serve patients and families and a passion for providing the best possible careEducation: Graduate of an accredited masters, post masters, or doctoral nursing program with formal preparation as a Nurse Practitioner.Licensure: Current unencumbered licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with designation as a Nurse Practitioner. Current prescriptive authority with full DEA privileges. Must achieve and maintain national certification in the Nurse Practitioner specialty
Experience: 2 years experience within the last 5 years in chronic disease management/long-term care. Hospice background preferred.Required: Reliable transportation. Ability to sit, stand, bend, move intermittently and lift at least 25lbs. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
